A closed system is seen as an illustration of the untamed land. This closed environment is invested in the strangeness of real. An almost alternate reality coinciding with social anxiety, political populism and a loss of faith in facts.
The transparent glass dome and the glass screen on our phones are parallel to our online lives, which have become completely transparent. Our transactions are logged, metadata monitored, CCTV and facial recognition. The glass walls are a representation of this transparency.
Following the events of 2020, touch has now become a rarity in our daily lives and we are greatly aware of it. A sense that is key to our connection with others but also to our digital network. Essentially a social/emotional touch that our brain comprehends, is now missing and we use our phones to fulfil this absent connection.
